There are few things you should always be doing — other than breathing and what not — and one of those things is to always be learning.
We have a limited amount of time and a lot to learn.
No matter what industry you’re in, information is the key to improving and getting ahead.
Even when you become an expert, you can’t stop learning.
Information is more widely available than ever before, allowing more people to gain the right knowledge.
As a result, the competition is better.
The simple solution to be competitive yourself, and to possibly gain an edge, is to always be learning.
Real World Education
School is for memorizing facts.
Learning happens in the real world.
You can always be learning by simply being observant and thoughtful.
Here are 3 ways to learn in the real world:
- Let others do the talking
- Make note of patterns and “coincidences”
- Only follow advice from those who have achieved what you want to achieve
Learning From Failure
I know gushing about your failures is the cool thing right now, but personally I think it’s just a way for people to play the victim game to get attention.
In most cases, a “failure” isn’t truly a failure.
Most failures are just quitting too soon.
However, even when you do fail, it’s not really a failure if you learned from it.
And I don’t mean you learned not to join another MLM scam — I mean you learned something valuable you could apply to future endeavors.
Books, Blogs, Videos, and Podcasts
For every career, industry, business, hobby, or interest there exists a variety of books, websites, and social media communities.
Don’t like to read? Watch YouTube.
Don’t have time? Listen to podcasts while you drive to work.
It’s never been easier to learn everything you could want to learn about any given subject.
The Value of an Insight
I’m a fan of all the above, but I find books often contain the golden nuggets I’m looking for.
Often I can read an entire book and most of it will be review, but I’ll typically learn several new things that can have a major impact on my life.
It only takes one golden nugget to make purchasing the book worth it.
In business, those golden nuggets have earned me thousands of dollars.
In other areas of life, those golden nuggets have shifted my mindset and forever changed the course of my life.
If you like learning, you might like my book because I know things.
